Djet (Wadjo, Ita)

Djet was the third king of the1st Dynasty. A limestone stela (shown above - now in Louvre in Paris, but originally from his mortuary complex at Abydos) attests his "Horus Name". The only other place that Egyptologists found a reference to him was in an inscription near the city of Edfu, to the south of Egypt. His Great Royal Wife was Queen Mereneith, who acted as mentor and advisor for his successor, King Den.
